They typically grow to only 2-3 inches in length, and a group of at least 6 individuals is recommended to help them feel secure and exhibit their natural schooling behavior.

Tank Habitat and Care:
Checkered Barbs are best suited for well-planted tanks that provide ample cover and hiding spots, as well as open swimming areas to roam. A minimum tank size of 20 gallons is recommended, with larger tanks preferred for community aquariums. The ideal environment should include plants, driftwood, and rocks that create a natural, river-like setting. Maintain a pH level of 6.0-7.0, a hardness range of 5-12 dGH, and a temperature of 68-77°F (20-25°C) to ensure optimal conditions for your Checkered Barbs.
Diet:
