Glowlight Tetra (Hemigrammus Erythrozonus)
The Glowlight Tetra is a popular freshwater fish that adds a touch of brilliance to any community aquarium. With its vibrant colors and peaceful nature, it makes an excellent addition for both beginner and experienced aquarists.
Appearance:
This small fish boasts a translucent body with a striking, iridescent red-orange stripe that runs from its head to tail. Males are slimmer and more brightly colored than females, while females have a more rounded body shape.
Personality:
These social fish are known for their peaceful temperament and make great tank mates for other non-aggressive species.
Tank Habitat and Care:
Glowlight Tetras thrive in a well-planted tank with ample hiding spots, mimicking their natural habitat. A dimly lit environment with floating plants will help bring out their vibrant colors. The ideal water conditions include a pH of 6.0-7.5, a hardness of 5-12 dGH, and a temperature of 72-82°F (22-28°C).
Diet:
As omnivores, they require a balanced diet consisting of high-quality flakes, pellets, and live or frozen foods such as brine shrimp and daphnia. Feeding small portions multiple times a day is recommended.
