Golden Dwarf Gourami (Trichogaster Lalius)
The Golden Dwarf Gourami is a stunning, small freshwater fish known for its vibrant golden hue with iridescent blue stripes. This peaceful and hardy species typically reaches an adult size of around 2 inches, making it perfect for smaller aquariums.
Golden Dwarf Gouramis are social fish that enjoy being in pairs or small groups. They are compatible with other peaceful, small fish such as tetras, rasboras, and corydoras. Although not schooling fish, a minimum group size of 2-3 individuals is recommended to promote natural behavior.
An omnivorous species, Golden Dwarf Gouramis thrive on a varied diet consisting of high-quality flakes, pellets, and live or frozen foods such as brine shrimp, bloodworms, and daphnia. They also benefit from the occasional addition of blanched vegetables.
Golden Dwarf Gouramis ideal community aquarium size is a minimum of 20 gallons. Provide plenty of hiding spots with live plants, floating plants, driftwood, and rockwork.
They prefer water with a pH of 6.0-7.5, hardness between 4-10 dGH, and a temperature range of 75-82°F (24-28°C). Regular water changes and proper filtration are essential to maintain water quality.
