Description

Green Fire Tetra (Aphyocharax Rathbuni)

The Green Fire Tetra is a small, vibrant freshwater fish that adds a touch of fiery color to any aquarium. Originating from the rivers and tributaries of South America, these lively fish make a wonderful addition to community tanks.

Appearance:
Green Fire Tetras have a slender, elongated body with a beautiful blend of colors. Their greenish-silver body is adorned with an iridescent red-orange stripe that runs from the gill cover to the base of their caudal fin. Their fins are translucent with a slight reddish hue.

Personality:
Green Fire Tetras are active, peaceful, and social fish that enjoy living in groups. They are constantly on the move, exploring their surroundings and interacting with tank mates.

Tank Habitat and Care:
Green Fire Tetras do best in a densely planted aquarium with plenty of hiding spots, such as rocks and driftwood. The water should be soft to moderately hard, slightly acidic to neutral, and well-filtered. Perform regular water changes to maintain water quality.

Diet:
Green Fire Tetras are omnivorous and will accept a variety of foods, such as high-quality flake food, freeze-dried or frozen bloodworms, brine shrimp, and daphnia. Adding vegetable matter, like blanched spinach or spirulina, will also benefit their diet.
