Highfin Glassy Perchlets grow up to 3 inches in size and possess a peaceful temperament, making them compatible with other non-aggressive fish species like livebearers and X-ray tetras. To encourage their social behavior and create an appealing display, keep them in schools of at least 6-8 individuals. They may squabble amongst themselves, but very rarely is physical damage.
These omnivorous fish enjoy a diverse diet that includes high-quality flakes or pellets, supplemented with live or frozen foods like brine shrimp, daphnia, and bloodworms.

For a community setting, a tank of 40 gallons or more is recommended. They thrive in a planted tank with open swimming spaces and hiding spots created by rocks and driftwood. A darker substrate will accentuate their unique appearance. Ideal plants for Highfin Glassy Perchlets include longer-stalked species such as Cabomba caroliniana, Hornwort, and Vallisneria.
