Pristella Tetra (Pristella Maxillaris)
The Pristella Tetra (Pristella Maxillaris), also known as the X-Ray Tetra, is a small, peaceful fish appreciated for its transparent body and striking fin colors. Native to the coastal waters of South America, these adaptable tetras are a popular choice for community aquariums due to their hardiness and compatibility with a variety of tank mates.
Appearance:
The unique appearance of Pristella Tetras features a nearly transparent body, allowing their bones and organs to be visible, hence the name X-Ray Tetra. Their fins display contrasting colors, with black and white bands and yellow or red tips. Adult Pristella Tetras typically reach a size of around 1.5-2 inches.

A minimum tank size of 10 gallons is recommended, while a 20-gallon or larger tank is ideal for a community aquarium. Provide a well-planted environment with hiding spaces, a dark substrate, and gentle water movement.
Diet:
Omnivorous in their diet, Pristella Tetras should be fed a combination of high-quality flake or pellet foods, supplemented with live or frozen foods such as brine shrimp, daphnia, or bloodworms to ensure proper nutrition.
