Description

Royal Turquoise Gourami (Trichogaster Lalius variant)

The Royal Turquoise Gourami is an enchanting variant of the popular Dwarf Gourami, featuring mesmerizing shades of turquoise and blue. These peaceful, curious fish add a touch of royalty to any community aquarium.

They typically grow up to 3.5 inches in length and thrive in pairs or small groups (i.e., 1 male and 2 females).

Royal Turquoise Gouramis coexist well with other peaceful, slow-moving fish species. Ideal tank mates include tetras, rasboras, and angelfish, as well as bottom-dwelling species like Corydoras and loaches. Avoid housing them with fin-nippers or aggressive species, as this may cause stress.

Royal Turquoise Gouramis are omnivorous and enjoy a varied diet of high-quality flake food, freeze-dried bloodworms, brine shrimp, and daphnia. Supplement their meals with vegetables such as blanched spinach or lettuce for optimal health and coloration.

A well-planted aquarium with a minimum size of 20 gallons is ideal for these gouramis. Provide ample hiding spots, like caves and dense vegetation, to make them feel secure.

Moderate water flow and a temperature range of 72-82°F (22-28°C) will keep them comfortable. Maintain a pH of 6.0-8.0 and a hardness between 4-18 dGH for optimal water conditions.
